Affordable Housing Development and Dell Delta Healthy Resources & Opportunity Center | Lake Village, Arkansas

HouseAboutit’s “Dell Delta Initiative” (DDI) is a community and economic development model of mixed usage for affordable housing, commercial land use, and a Small Business Development HUB geared for the 21st Century. The “Dell Delta Initiative (DDI) is named after my mother, who was born and raised in the Mississippi Delta. Dell had a heart for people, was a woman full of faith and hope, and believed in a better quality of life for all.

Dell Delta Healthy Resources & Opportunity Center is a center that provides informative health resources, housing (504 Self-Help Housing Rehab/Repair Program), 502 New construction, rental and leasing housing options, vital in-person classes with UAMS partnership healthy resources (related to health issues awareness and reduction), “YOUR HEALTH MATTERS SENIOR DAY”, soft skills, financial literacy, and an incubator for a small business development HUB. Center covering Lincoln County down to Chicot County. 

In addition, The “Dell Delta Healthy Resources & Opportunity Center” provide supportive services that promote and spark economic growth from Lincoln County to Chicot County and work with schools and businesses.

“Affordable Housing”

There is a dire need for “Affordable Energy Efficiency Healthy, Resilient Housing” in Rural Arkansas in Southeast Arkansas Delta is at an all-time high due to there are no housing stock in the Southeast Delta.

Self-Help Housing Rehab/Repair Program is housed in our Lake Village Office placed to increase our self-help housing program services in Chicot County and to meet the needs of very-low income families who lives in homes where conditions are inadequate.

The need for affordable housing is the main housing issue facing the city and county in addition to unmet basic needs for many residents. Affordable housing is an economic development issue in Lake Village and impacts ongoing economic growth and the recruitment of businesses and workers.  

 The Dell Delta Initiative consist of all new construction affordable homes for families available for: 

  • Rent/lease  
  • Homeownership 
  • 55 and older homes
  • Workforce single-family homes
  • Multi-family homes
